08.08.2008 - Tallinn 2008

The “7th INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM OF GASTROENTEROLOGY – Topic: How to diminish the mortality from cancer in gastroenterology” expertly arranged by the Czech Gastroenterology Association was held on May 9 and 10, 2008 in Tallinn, Estonia. The main theme of the symposium was the possibility of early diagnostics and following therapy of digestive tract tumors, including the pancreatic ones.Questions concerning these issues are very significant due to the fact that the early diagnostics are still methodologically determined and disease stages at time of diagnosis from the cure point of view have a large influence on long term results.

Lectures were given by renowned experts from the Czech Republic, Spain, Poland and Slovakia. The program enabled a wide selection of given topics, including time for interactive discussion. There were casuistics and video clips with demonstrations of used endoscopic approaches to cure, for example, shown at the end of each block.

24.01.2007 - Traditional autumn cardiological symposium organised by PRO.MED.CS Praha a.s. - 2006

The third year of the “Traditional autumn cardiological symposium” organised by PRO.MED.CS Praha a.s. took place in two locations in the Czech Republic in 2006, on 28.11 in Prague in Hotel Diplomat and on 5.12 in Brno in Hotel International. There was unprecedented interest about this event on the part of the specialist public. The Prague section welcomed over 500 participants and 230 doctors registered in Brno.

Interesting lectures were given: professor Hradec summed up the latest news from the cardiological conventions here and especially focused on the relationship of hyperhomocystemia and ICHS as well as on the problem of medicines, which loosen stents. Prof. Linhart dealt with problematic questions in the treatment of hypertension, which brought new findings in 2006. Prof. Widimský jr. provided detailed information about the problems of treating patients with ICHS and CHSS and MUDr Doležal contributed a talk on the utilisation of natriuretic peptides in clinical practice. Prof. Hradec then accepted invitation to participate in the lectures in Brno and talks were given on the same topics as in Prague by Prof. Špinar, Prof. Vítovec and MUDr. Slíva.

We hope that we will be able to prepare the 4th year of this educational social event in 2007 thanks to the interest shown by doctors.

During the period of May 12-13, 2006, the company  PRO.MED.CS Praha a.s., in conjunction with Promocions Médiques Andorranes s.l. and the Czech and Polish Gastroentrology Societies, organised the sixth annual International Gastroenterology Symposium, this year held in Krakow, Poland.  The symposium offered the possibility of introducing specialists in the field of gastroenterology to the latest medical knowledge and methods of treating diseases of the gastro-intestinal system. In addition to Czech, Polish and Slovak gastroenterologists, participants in the symposium included leading specialists from Spain, as well as from many countries in Eastern Europe and central Asia.

The professional program concerned emergency situations in gastroenterology that pose an immediate threat to the afflicted patient. Around 300 symposium participants enthusiastically attended lectures by leading specialists on such themes as: bleeding into the GIT, states accompanying kidney failure, complications of acute pancreatitidis, the advantages and risks of parenteral nutrition etc. The currency of the themes chosen was confirmed by the many lively discussions following the individual lectures.
